What goes into making a miniature detail brush? Beyond the finished product, there are many steps involved in preparing the brush hair, shaping the brush head, and assembling the brush.
At Fontainebleau Brush Factory, the process involves 16 steps. Here’s a closer look at how our miniature detail brushes take shape.

The process begins with weighing and combing the brush hair to prepare it for shaping.
Step 1: Weighing
Step 2: Combing
The prepared hair is placed into a specially shaped container and tapped into form. After the bundle is secured, it goes through further arranging and trimming to refine its shape.
Step 3: Shaping the Brush Head
Step 4: Arranging the Hair
Step 5: Trimming the Hair
Step 6: Reshaping the Hair Bundle
Step 7: Tidying the Hair
Step 8: Final Trimming

The hair length is measured before the prepared bundle is mounted onto the handle.
Step 9: Measuring Hair Length
Step 10: Preparing the Hair Bundle
Step 11: Mounting the Handle
The handle is printed with the required logo. Further assembly steps follow to secure the brush hair and set the brush head into its intended shape.
Step 12: Logo Printing
Step 13: Neck Finishing
Step 14: Applying Adhesive to the Brush Hair
Step 15: Setting the Brush Head

The assembled brush is air-dried before moving to the next stage of production.
Step 16: Air-Drying

Developing a miniature brush involves more than choosing a brush size. Hair specifications, brush head shape, handle design, logo, and packaging all contribute to the finished product.
Fontainebleau Brush Factory supports custom paintbrush manufacturing, including miniature brush development, logo customization, and packaging options.
